Penreach and the Department of Education have been working together since 1999 to ensure that each regional science expo is a success. Mandlesive Secondary, Enkhokhokhweni Primary, Cyril Clarke and Tiboneleni, all Penreach Target Schools, presented a total of 20 projects ranging from innovation technology, energy, environmental sciences to psychosocial sciences categories. 3 projects were awarded bronze medals at the award ceremony which took place in the chapel.
Science Expo affords learners the unique opportunity of showcasing their innovation and ingenuity through projects focused in the fields of Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Innovation (STEMI). It provides a platform for growth and serves as a catchment for future scientists, researchers and engineers. It is a process that involves submission of innovative science and technology projects by our ‘young scientists’ to judge at school, regional and international level.
This competition targets Grade 5 to 12 learners at regional level and grade 6 to 12 at international level.
Penreach would like to congratualate all participants and wishes those who will be taking part in the Nationals the best of luck.
